Follow Alison and find the perfect nest
W ITH a spacious layout and a garden cascading into the picturesque countryside, One Holly Farm, in Keyworth, is a perfect family home.
The stylishly modern house has six generously-sized bedrooms, five of which have en suites, and views over the surrounding countryside.
The house also comes with a vaulted entrance hall, a utility room, a cloakroom and a double garage.
Birmingham-born owner Alison Southall originally moved to Keyworth on a temporary basis but has ended up staying in the property since it was built around three-and- a-half years ago.
As the first owner of One Holly Farm, she has nothing but praise for the house.
Alison's move from the £600,000 property is purely down to convenience, she says. Her two children, Tom, 20, and Ella, 18, have recently flown the nest and so she has decided to relocate to her home town.
She said: "Now that the kids have grown up and are going off in their own directions, I've decided it is the perfect time for me to relocate to where I'm originally from.
"The layout of the house is perfect in every way – it's extremely well planned and offers plenty of room for a family. Since living here, I've not even had to use the attic, as there is ample storage space throughout the cottage, which is often difficult to come across in new builds."
Located in the village of Keyworth, within a gated setting and at the end of an exclusive private drive, Holly Farm is about six miles south east of West Bridgford and about nine miles outside of the centre of Nottingham.
Leicester is also readily accessible from the village.
"Keyworth is a lovely village setting, so I'm sure that whoever moves into the property will be very happy here," said Alison.
The five houses at Holly Farm were built by award-winning developer Grange Properties and this detached home ticks all the boxes for both its internal and external features, according to Alison.
Inside, there are storage cupboards throughout and the house is laced with modern finishing touches such as under-floor heating.
There is also a tranquil conservatory/garden room which overlooks the surrounding countryside.
Outside, there is a wide flagged Indian sandstone terrace which links the kitchen and conservatory and provides an ideal social sitting area.
Alison was initially drawn to the magnificent countryside views.
"The surrounding countryside is stunning," she said.
"You can sit in the garden and be surrounded by fields which go on for miles.
"The views from the rooms are beautiful and that's really something that drew me to the property in the first place."
Holly Farm is within walking distance of many local amenities, such as a health centre, post office, village hall, churches, nursery and primary schools.
For everyday requirements, the village also has a general store, a supermarket, a butcher, a chemist, a hairdresser, a bank, estate agents and a great choice of public houses and restaurants.
Close by there are also playing fields, which offer outdoor sports facilities, and a leisure centre with a swimming pool.
Keyworth is a large village set in unspoilt Wolds countryside.
Its location meant that between the 1950s and 1970s, significant expansion took place to develop it into a commuter town for Nottingham.
Steve Parker, associate director at FHP Living said: "The Holly Farm development consists of five houses all of which offer stunning views and are of a high specification.
"The exquisite setting at One Holly Farm is something every home owner would dream of.
"It's a fantastic opportunity to buy a home which is perfectly laid out for family living and isn't far from Nottingham's city centre. It offers the perfect mix of city convenience whilst also being on the edge of the countryside."
