ANTI foie gras campaigners are claiming a victory after a number of city restaurants agreed to remove the delicacy from their restaurants.

The protesters from Nottingham Animal Rights are known to stand outside restaurants which serve foie gras, holding banners and shouting at customers.

Restaurant owners have called police in the past, but no charges have been brought.

New city restaurant Vienna has removed foie gras from the menu and Chino Latino has pledged not to serve it. World Service and French Living do not serve foie gras.

“Oh dear Bill...have you no idea what you put in your mouth?! Well, you may not have heard of it as it's considered by some strange folk a delicacy. Bizarelly that delicacy entails force feeding a duck/goose corn by using a tube down it's throat until it's liver it's 10 times it's natural size. Because this practice is so horrendous approximately 1 million of these ducks or geese die in France every year. We don't practice Foie Gras production in Blightly; we get the French to do our dirty work for us.”
