Flooding causes disruption to roads and trains in Notts

FLOOD warnings remain in place across the county today after recent heavy rainfall.

And train services are being replaced by buses between Nottingham and Derby due to flooding in Long Eaton.

Trains between Nottingham and Matlock are also disrupted and are only running between Derby and Matlock.

Eight flood warnings have been issued by the Environment Agency across the region for the River Trent at Sawley Marina, Holme Pierrepont, Lenton, Newark Tolney Lane, Girton, Collingham, High Marnham.

There is also a flood warning for the River Soar at Zouch.

The floods have also seen some roads closed in Notts.

The A617 in Kelham has been closed between the Blacksmith Lane junction and the A616 junction.

Other roads in the region  - including Nabbs Lane in Hucknall, the A6097 in Lowdham and Trent Lane in Gunthorpe - also have standing water on them and drivers are being advised to approach with care.
