It is understood that only minor damage was done, and at least eight of the men were arrested.
This is the second fire bomb attack on a police station in two days, after a similar incident in the city's St Ann's area last night
There are no reports of any injuries at this stage.
This follows an incident earlier this evening at Nottingham High School, where police were called to remove a small group of men from the roof of one of the buildings.
Two men were also placed in custody earlier this evening after rocks were thrown at Bulwell Police Station.
