Sheffield welterweight Kell Brook moved a step closer to his world title dream by stopping Poland's Krzysztof Bienias in six rounds to win the WBO intercontinental welterweight title in Liverpool last night.
Paul Smith lifted Carl Froch's old British super-middleweight title when he beat Tony Dodson on points. It was a brave display by Smith, who was cut on the forehead and just above the left eye during a clash of heads in the opening rounds.

Tony Bellew took the vacant Commonwealth light-heavyweight when he stopped Atoli Moore in the first. Newark's Carl Greaves was looking after Moore.
*Ty Mitchell, son of former heavyweight champ Clifton, made a winning pro debut on his dad's show in Derby last week.
A chip off the old block, he won every round against Sabie Montieth.

*Esham Pickering is off the Leigh bill on March 19. But Mansfield-based Latvian Sergei Rozhakmans gets another run out, this time against Kirk Golding. Andy Bell steps up a weight to tackle Gary Davies.
Robin Hood stablemate Pavels Senkovs is due out at Don Valley the same night against Eddie Meskry.
There is a lot of local interest on the next York Hall bill. Bilborough's Tyrone Wright hopes to make his first appearance of the year against Leon Williams while Alex Spitko takes on the veteran Kreshnik Qato.
*Good luck to Skegness favourite Ben Lawler, who defends his Midland area title against tough Dean Harrison in Wolverhampton tomorrow.
*Audley Harrison doesn't have much luck, does he? He was due to challenge Albert Sosnowski for the European belt in London next month.
But the Pole will now be fighting Vitali Klitschko for the WBC heavyweight title instead.
Klitschko was due to defend against former WBA champion Nikolay Valuev. But, when that fight broke down, Sosnowski took up the challenge to fight in Gelsenkirchen, on May 29.
*Ricky Hatton is expected to announce his retirement next week. About time to.
*Former WBC super-middleweight champion Robin Reid returns to the ring tomorrow when he takes on ex-England International footballer Lee Sharpe for charity.
The pair meet for an exhibition bout at the Oceana nightclub in Leeds on Sunday afternoon in aid of three-year-old cancer victim Maddison Staveley.
Former Leeds and Manchester United star Sharpe, 38, was due to face professional light-middleweight and event organiser Lee Murtagh.
But he injured a knee in training so Reid - who retired after losing to Carl Froch, stepped in.
*Former WBC heavyweight world champion Samuel Peter is in line for another title shot after a second-round stoppage of Dominican Nagy Aguilera at the Gaylord Texan Hotel in Texas.
*It's Manny Pacquiao v Joshua Clottey for the WBO welterweight title at the Dallas Cowboys Stadium in Arlington tonight.
Clottey is a dangerous, good old pro. He is bigger and stronger, but Pacquiao has a habit of beating bigger guys - whatever the weight.
Will this be Pacquiao's last fight before he goes into politics? Watch this space......
