'Fame hasn't changed me' says George Sampson
Last year's winner of Britain's Got Talent, George Sampson, 15, says fame and fortune haven't changed him a bit. Now a special guest on this year's live tour, he talks to 11-year-old fan CHLOË PINCHESS
How excited are you about going on the tour again?
I'm very excited. I mean last year was great and hopefully this year's going to be even better – it's nice to come back as a guest.
Who is your favourite act on Britain's Got Talent this year?
Shaheen....he's brilliant.
Which is the best dance act?
Flawless for the dance technicality. Diversity have the edge and they have the creativity.
What do you have in store for the BGT tour?
We have a few things up our sleeves and I think we are going to surprise people.
Will you be doing a dance-off with Stavros Flatley?
(Laughs) Well, I don't think it's going to happen.
What do you reckon to breakdancing pensioner Fred Bowers?
I don't really think it was breakdance...but whatever it was, it was cool!
I heard you broke your toe before your guest appearance at the semi finals. Did it hurt?
I did it doing a backwards roly poly. It did (hurt), well not much when I was dancing but afterwards it really hurt. But the show must go on and it went fine.
What have your highlights been since winning BGT?
There's been lots of highlights – going home for the first time, going back to school. Seeing my friends was a highlight as well.
What have been your favourite showbiz moments?
I went to America twice, the first time I went for a holiday to see how things work. The second time I did the Oprah Winfrey show.
Which celebrities have you met?
Rihanna, Paris Hilton, The Pussycat Dolls, Lady Gaga, Take That – there's loads.
I saw the photos of you and Paris Hilton in papers. What's she really like?
Oh wow! She's a lovely person, she's a nice girl and means well. She was really nice to me.
What was it like being in the West End hip hop musical Into the Hoods?
It was great. I learnt a lot about respect and how to treat other dancers. It's so hard for a dancer to do very well in London. Even when you're in the West End, it's still hard.
I read that you were asked to audition for Michael Jackson's UK tour?
I met Michael Jackson's brother Tito and we had a few words. It was a consideration of me doing something with Jacko in the future.
After moving from Warrington to London do you go to a new school now?
I don't go to a school. I have tutors that come around with me. After my GCSEs I'm going to do A-levels in business, computer studies, maths and English.
Do you miss Warrington?
I do. I just miss the vibe around Warrington.
Do you get chance to go back and see your friends?
I go back every two or three weekends.
Are you going to be in a film?
That's right. It's a British street dance film and it's in 3D.
What else have you got lined up for the future?
I'm going to do my A-levels and after that I don't know.
Do you think you've changed since winning BGT?
Not at all, I've got the same friends. People voted for me because of who I was and if I changed, people's opinions would change.
Have you treated yourself and your family with your £100,000 prize money?
No nothing. I bought my mum a ring.
What about the VW camper van, is that something you still fancy?
Oh yes, definitely, that's definitely going to happen...I'm going to buy that camper van.
