Exclusive: Eriksson and Trembling in Magpies takeover bid
SVEN-Goran Eriksson and Peter Trembling are fronting a takeover bid for Notts County.
Mr Trembling, the club's executive chairman, was in London last night looking to secure what the Post understands is 'mainstream UK financial backing' for a management buyout of the Magpies.

The management buyout bid is in response to Mr Trembling's daily frustrations over the running of the country's oldest professional football club, it is believed.
If current Middle East-based owners Munto Finance reject the buy-out bid, it is understood Mr Eriksson, Notts County's director of football, will reconsider his future at the club.
It has been reported he has a number of job offers from leading countries and international clubs.
It is believed the potential Eriksson/Trembling fronted new owners of Notts County would have the finance to continue the club's ambitious plans to reach the Premier League as outlined by Munto Finance.
Mr Trembling became Notts County's executive chairman after Munto Finance's high profile takeover of the club in July this year.
Last month, Mr Eriksson was reported to be demanding a multi-million-pound sum he claimed he was owed from Swiss Commodity Holding under the terms of his recruitment to Notts County.
He is understood to believe that, alongside his five-year contract with the club, a side agreement was struck with SCH under which he would become an ambassador for the Zurich-based company.
The former England manager was appointed Notts County's Director of Football in July.
It was his presence that was widely thought to have attracted former England international Sol Campbell to the League Two outfit in September.
The ex-Arsenal and Tottenham centre-back left after 30 days, making just one appearance for the club.
Mr Eriksson was reported to have turned down the opportunity to coach his native Sweden as well as North Korea and was behind the appointment of current Magpies boss Hans Backe.

“Looks like the trust were tricked into giving away their shareholding for a few middle east businessmen to make a quick £3m. So much for the 5 year plan!!
Derby Pie, we do not want Charlie back thankyou!! He presided over some of the worst football I've ever seen.”

“We dont need once upon a time stories with county.......they are a joke in the here and now.
Nevermind though, in 20 years time you'll be able to brag to your grandkids that you once supported the most richest club in the land.
For about five minutes!”

“oh dont worry, I frequent this site every day, and I know the names of all the people who seem to talk sh1t for a living, and you'd definitely be one of those.
So yhea, seeyou in the morning for this big announcement then. I wonder, will it be as big as the other big announcement you were talking about a few weeks back? The one that never happened?
And yes, I'd suggest you go to bed as well. Someone who does as much drugs and talks as much sh1t as you needs all the kip he can get.”

“steve,notts
There has been no quote anywhere from County but why should Radio Nottingham and the BBC make up anything .It now seems to be common knowledge that it is Munto who have put County up for sale.I have no axe to grind Steve but why believe the NEP and not the BBC who are a very credible source I would think.Does it really matter if Munto have put you up for sale rather than trembling looking to get backers coz he dont like the way munto are running the club...either way your going to have new owners and I genuinely ,genuinely hope it all ends well. Please dont take the ribbing by fellow Forest fans to much to heart ,you must admit there has been plenty of dishing from you county fans towards forest this season ,I do feel that at the end of the day none of us would like to see county go under .That is why a few years ago we helped as much as we could to keep you afloat. In times of crisis both clubs over the years have helped each other out (you letting us ground share when the main stand burnt down) .Its been a mad few months for you county fans ,hopefully things will settle down after this..Good luck”

“Looking at the comments on this site I now know why I will never set foot in the City Ground even if County do go under.
Unlike a lot of County fans I can remember the time Forest came begging County to allow them to share their ground when Forests main stand was destroyed by fire.
Yes County fans were excired when the take over was announced and maybe some went over the top, but so did the Froest fans.
During the last 6 months some National Newspapers have conducted a witch hunt against County, no wonder that Munto are - allegibly - pulling out.
The football League, especially Lord Milwinny, have also conducted a which hunt.
I, and I hope all the county fans will contine to give the club their full support buy going to the match this Saturday.”

“Erm, sorry but were'nt you the same mickey stripe top who said a couple of weeks ago that county would be in the prem in 4 years (even though its mathematically impossible) and you also said at the time that there would be a big announcement about it a few days after whatever it was you were going on about?
If that does'nt make sense, dont worry about it, because you werent making any sense that night either, and there never was any big announcement about anything.
In other words......
I smell a bull$h1t artiste.”
