Events to mark closure of Henry Mellish school

FORMER pupils are gearing up for events to mark the closure of Henry Mellish School, in Bulwell.

Dozens of tickets for the events, on July 20 and 21 have been sold. The school is to close at the end of the summer term, along with River Leen School, to make way for the new Bulwell Academy.

There will be a disco in the school hall on July 20 followed by a social evening at the Gateway Hotel on July 21.

Head teacher Tony Bond, said: "It will be a sad day for us all when the school finally closes, but we are hoping to see it out in style."
