Carbon cuts: Alan Clark says the city is setting a cracking pace.
At an event at Nottingham Contemporary today, the council is also unveiling its community climate change strategy, which has a neighbourhood-based action plan.
By 2020 the council is aiming for a 26 per cent cut in carbon levels compared to 2005.
The council is also offering a new Low Carbon Grants Scheme, to provide funding of up to £500 for projects that reduce local environmental impacts and carbon emissions.
Councillor Alan Clark said: 'Nottingham is setting a cracking pace in becoming a sustainable city.
"The Community Climate Change Strategy is a key part of future-proofing Nottingham and is really notable because it turns the global concept of climate change into a very local issue."
