NOTTINGHAM Forest have brought defender Elliott Ward back to the club from Premier League Norwich City.

The 27-year-old has signed another loan deal and will remain at the City Ground until the end of the season – with a view to a permanent move in the summer.

It is a timely boost for Reds boss Alex McLeish, as he was set to be without two central defenders for the clash with Peterborough on Saturday at the City Ground (3pm) – with Danny Collins suspended and Daniel Ayala injured.

Ward made 12 appearances for Forest in his first loan spell with the club, which ended after the 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace recently.

Ward said: "It feels good to be back. I've had eight days back with Norwich and was on the bench for their FA Cup tie at Peterborough last weekend.

"But I knew something might happen with Forest and it was just a case of waiting and hoping.

"I'm glad things have been sorted out at Forest because I really enjoyed my initial loan spell with the club.

"The deal is to see if the manager is happy with me and if he is hopefully a permanent move will be there at the end of my loan.

"But all I'm concerned with at the moment is playing well and doing well for the team and then we'll see what happens in the future."

Chairman Fawaz Al Hasawi added: "Elliott proved how valuable to our squad he can be during his initial loan spell with us.

"He made it clear he wanted to come back to the club for the remainder of the season and we're delighted to have him here."

“Good signing. Has been one of our best players (no sarcasm please) in the last few games.”

“In fairness to Ward I thought he was starting to look like a decent player towards the end of his loan spell. Prior to joining us he had played 13 games in 2 seasons following a preseaon injury, none of which were this season-so no surprise that he was somewhat rusty He did however play 41 times in Norwich's last promotion to prem so he is no mug. I may be made to look stupid, but think he will prove to be a key player for us, assuming he remains injury free.

Lets face it, he's an improvement on what else we have available at present!

Welcome back Elliott and good luck, hopefully you'll hit the ground running this time (no pun intended)”

“I just want to see a solid, settled, defensive unit given time to knit together. I personally feel that the main problem at Forest is the constant chopping and changing. We need a good reliable keeper, with a round peg in round hole back four over a stable period of tine. Not, One week Harding, next week Halford, or one week Ayala next week Ward, or one week Hutton next week Maloney. all this is a recipe for confusion. Get your first choice back 4, and only change for injuries or suspensions. Stability, thats the key.”

“paul72 agree with you sheep dip NLN has been good for you for five seasons he has managed to keep you from getting relegated season after season by filling the side with freebies and Crewe and Burton reserves but once the acne kid is sold to try and help balance the books whats going to happen then, will he open another box of kids who are prepared to play for a quid.”

“Sorry all, but I can't see Ward making the Forest defence any stronger. He is just as slow as Collins, Ayala, Harford and Maloney. We need pace and defenders who are good on the ball, Ward is not any of these things. I welcome him, and hope he will do a great job for us, but the one to turn things around, he is not!

Since Boxing Day things have really gone in the wrong direction... We all hope to see a couple of great signings and good times for our beloved Forest, but I do fell the mist has come in, things are in the blur... Come on!

I'm a Forest fan and I will be forever, and I really hope that we one day will take the big jump into PL again... Not so long ago we played two good play off games against Swansea, we should have beaten them and been in the final, but they went all the way...
Last night and a couple of other times, I have seen them play in Denish television, mostly because they got Danish Laudrup as their manager... I really hope that we one day can play like them, they play good and beautiful football, they got pace on the wings and are great with the ball, I got a huge respect for what they have done since they went up, please let that come to my beloved Forest!

    GO REDS FOREVER!”
