Edinburgh v Panthers game off
NOTTINGHAM Panthers general manager Gary Moran said the club had little choice but to call off their trip to face Edinburgh Capitals yesterday, on "safety grounds" following Saturday evening's heavy snowfall.
Although the motorways were generally clear, there were fears of more bad weather to come, along with the uncertain road conditions further north and in Scotland.
Although Panthers players were called in early to meet up with the team coach, some in outlying areas were having difficulty even getting to the arena.
Moran said: "We had a few fans who intended to brave the journey north so we had to act to ensure they didn't set off or at least could turn around not too far up the road."
A new date will be announced as soon as possible.
