Eccles turns the tables on his arch-rival
GLEANERS had a cracking match at the prolific Mallory Park, Carl Williams coming out on top with 305lb on paste on Banana Lake.
Matthew Gibbs was second with 235-8 from Mick Wright with 179lb. Catches were so good that Trevor Furby's 101-10 was only good enough for 13th.
John Eccles and Martin Turner are proving the men to beat at R.O.F.
Reversing the previous week's result, Eccles came out on top at Jansons with 184-14 from Turner with 111-9.
Steve Nattrass, in third, also topped the ton on pellet and pole in the margins.
Trent legend Ted Stokes claimed the notable scalps of Dave Scott and Dave Revill, either side of him, putting 101-4 on the scales.
Malc Kirkland won the Parkside match at Coopers Arms with 101-6 from an unfancied peg. He fished the method to the island for carp, barbel and bream. Martin Turner was a distant second with 59-1.
Midland fished their own stretch of the Trent at Caythorpe. Weights weren't great, but Pete Tomlinson was able to fish stick float and maggot, up to five rod lengths out on peg 17, for 6-2-8 of roach, perch and dace. He lost a big perch in the reeds with 30 minute to go.
Gary Smith was only one fish adrift, with a level 6lb on waggler and maggot off peg 13. Opting to fish the waggler, Smith also had mainly roach, all on maggot.
Alan Courtney won the Waltonians match at Beechwood with 56-3 on a low Kingfisher. Colin Reek lost a 10lb ghostie at the net, but still finished second with 38-3.
Tony Gamble had carp to 7-14 in the Embankment match at Hackett's. He weighed 66-8 for a clear win. Dave Bee landed a 12lb carp in the Imperial match, as John Watson won with 38-4.
Connor Clark won the Matchmen Bulwell match at Shearsby Valley with 85-9 of carp and skimmers down the edge on meat and corn.
Mark Smith topped the Arnold Ex-Service match again with 107-15 at Shearsby. Pete Chappell pipped Phil Duffy for second with 62-11.
Tony Buda fished pole and dog biscuit to take 98-4 of carp to the scales in the Carlton AC Ilkeston trip to Peatling match lakes. He won £48 on the golden peg. Jamie Taylor took 89-4 on bread for second place.
Crown Inn had a cracking match on Trotters at Holly Farm. Martin Pincott won with 115-10 of carp to 8lb on pole and paste. A lot of his fish came in the last two hours.
Busy Steve Nattrass was second with 109-3 of carp to 6lb on bread. Match secretary Paul Pykett framed with his best match weight of 70-12.
Barnstone beat Collingham in the third leg of their challenge matches at Lakeview. The big field of 43 was spread over Serpent and Canal. Jamie Francis was top rod on the day with 66-10 off Canal 3. He edged out team-mate Alan Houghton with 63-12 at Serpent 8.
Barnstone's top ten weighed 502-6 to Collingham's 367-10. It gave Barnstone a comprehensive victory overall, 916-3 to 692-8.
The Old Pear Tree were pegged on Marina. The top five all fished bread, Gordon Mee taking the honours with 63-12 of carp to 6lb.
