LEVELS of suspected swine flu cases in Nottingham have dropped for the first time in weeks.

The number of GP consultations with flu-like illness was 53 per 100,000 people between October 26 and November 1 - down from the previous week's rate of 74.

In Notts outside the city the rate per 100,000 rose from 40 to 50 in the same period.

Across the East Midlands GP consultations dropped in three areas and went up in five areas, though the number of hospital admissions went down.
