Dragon boat racing: Notts Anaconda Dragon Boat Club is celebrating after receiving a £500 donation from the MARS Refuel Drink Fund.

The MARS Refuel Drink Fund was set up in 2008 and since that time has helped more than 10,000 sports clubs and individuals to play sport for longer.

Nottinghamshire Anaconda Dragon Boat Club is Nottingham's longest running and most successful dragon boat racing club. Founded in 1994, the club has more than 30 enthusiastic male and female members aged between 18 and 60 – including seven who have paddled for Great Britain.

"The award from the MARS Refuel Drink Fund is the best morale boost for our club," said Rob Brown, funding manager. "Our current boat is more than ten years old and money towards our new boat is just a dream come true and will also enable us to aim for the premier league."
