Door not shut on Gary Roberts, says Mansfield Town boss Paul Cox
GARY Roberts is one of the players axed from the immediate plans of Paul Cox.
But the Mansfield Town manager says the door is not totally shut on the former Port Vale midfielder.
Cox brought him to the One Call Stadium at the start of this year and he was a massive figure in the Stags' rise to third in the Blue Square Bet Premier.
This time out, his performances have varied and the 2-0 defeat at Dartford was the last time he played.

Roberts, 25, has been omitted from the squad for the last three games, including last night's in the FA Cup first round replay at Slough Town.
And Cox said it was just one of the tough decisions he had to take, telling some of his squad they are free to leave.
Cox said: "I have had to strip the squad down and I wanted to look at Chris Clements. Technically he is an excellent footballer and I have had to make tough decisions. Gary is one of those I've made a decision on.
"We weren't doing what was being asked. I am in this game to win consistently so I have had to make big decisions.
"We have gone into games where I have thought we haven't given our heart and soul and I have had to bring hungry players in.
"The door is not shut on Gary Roberts. If he wants to show the hunger and desire to get into our team we will be pleased to have him in our squad and in our side."
