Dog thrown out of taxi and run over in Wollaton
A DOG was thrown out of a taxi and run over in Wollaton.
The terrier-cross had to be put down after the incident in Derby Road, at about 11pm on Saturday, January 21.

An RSPCA officer was told that a man was travelling in a green taxi and was seen throwing the dog out of the window.
A witness said they then saw the driver deliberately run over the dog.
An RSPCA spokesman said: "This appears to be a horrific case of animal cruelty and we are deeply disturbed by what we have been told has happened.
"This poor dog would have suffered tremendously as a result of this incident and people cannot be allowed to get away with this.
"We would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time, or who may have witnessed this incident, to get in touch with either ourselves or the police, if they have not done so already.
"This would have been a busy area of town, so there must have been some witnesses.
"The vehicle was described as a green city cab with a male driver."
Anyone with information should call the RSPCA on 0300 1234 999 or the police.
The dog was male and had been neutered.

i still dont understand the manoeuvrings tho, you throw your pooch out of a moving car, then what do you ? slam into reverse ,retrace your steps and have another go ? it really doesnt make sense, perhaps they can view the cctv from inside the car ?”

“My mistake they are probably a sensible sane sorted individual - why shouldn't they be - they only chucked a dog out of a moving car and killed it.
I have perspective, I wasn't suggesting he would go and do other things but that there are links to animal abuse and violence - a valid point - which I think justsayingok was trying to convey.”

“Why? I can't say much more as I am too shocked. What will the sentence be if they are caught - a two year ban from keeping animals. And for all those who might say well at least it wasn't a child - there are well documented correlations between animal abuse and violence to humans - but in my mind a life is a life. I just hope they are caught and are made to face up to the fact of this awful crime and animal abuse.”

“What is wrong with this person? He needs to have his taxi license revoked (if he is a licensed driver) as if he can do this to an animal he could start to turn on people. I hope the RSPCA and the police catch him and press charges.”
