PATIENTS at a Nottingham doctor's surgery are being reminded to register somewhere else because the practice closes next month.

The Oakfield surgery in the newly-built St Ann's Valley Centre closes on March 15, due to the retirement of its only doctor, Pamela Ibrahim.

Doug Black, medical director at NHS Nottingham City and Notts County said: "GP services are free to all UK residents, but individuals do need to register at a local surgery in order to receive treatment.

"It's really important for anyone who isn't registered with a GP to do so before they become ill so that their medical records can be sent to the appropriate surgery and if they do need to see a doctor the service can be provided knowing the full medical history of the patient."
