POLICE in Sneinton are introducing a Dispersal Order to stop youngsters causing anti-social behaviour.

The order comes into force today for an initial six months.

It covers Manvers Street, Sneinton Hermitage, Colwick Road, Sneinton Boulevard, Dale Street, Sneinton Dale, Windmill Lane, Rossington Road, Highcliffe Road and numerous other residential roads.

Police can order individuals or groups to leave for 24 hours and can take under 16s found drinking in the street home to their parents.

    “I would have thought this should apply to all locations, all of the time. It should apply to folks of any age - not just young people. The police should be trusted not to misuse this.”

    “Excellent idea, it worked in the Meadows and Clifton so with the hard work of the SNT's in that area I am sure it will have a great and rappid effect, especially when the first one gets nicked for failing to disperse. Well done to all involved and thanks for making Nottingham safer!!”
