Detectives probe robbery of woman in own home
NEIGHBOURS have spoken of their shock after three men tied up and robbed a woman in her own home.
The trio knocked at the door of the 22-year-old victim's home, in Previn Gardens, St Ann's, at about 9am on Friday.
When the woman answered three men forced their way in.
Veronica Keaveny, 67, who lives in Previn Gardens with partner John McHugh, 73, said: "We live on our own here. It's frightening."
Another neighbour, Khia Lewis, 19, said: "It's disgusting how people can do that."
Rob Wood, 38, who has just moved into the area, added: "Things like this should not be happening."
Police say the offenders were all black, around 5ft 8in to 5ft 9in tall and aged 25-30. One is described as slim, the other two are of medium build.
One was dressed in a uniform similar to a postman, while the other two wore black hooded-tops. Two had Nottingham accents and the other may have had a Birmingham accent.
After her attackers left, having stolen cash and personal items, the victim managed to free herself and raise the alarm.
