Detectives charge man over gunpoint robbery

DETECTIVES have charged a 28-year-old man with robbery and possession of a firearm after a 49-year-old woman was robbed at gunpoint in Netherfield on Wednesday.

Ashley Martin Harris, of Maud Street, New Basford, has also been charged with production of cannabis.

He was due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates Court yesterday.

A 24-year-old woman has been bailed pending enquiries.

Police are still trying to identify two other people who were involved in the robbery, which happened in Moor Street, Netherfield, at around 12.20pm.

The suspects are believed to have driven off in a red car.

The victim, who is believed to have been specifically targeted, was uninjured but left shaken by the ordeal.

Detectives want to speak to people in the area who saw anyone acting out of the ordinary in Moor Street or Ashwell Street, Netherfield between 11.30am and 12.30pm.
