Davies: It's business as usual against Rams
BILLY Davies today told his Nottingham Forest players he wants it to be 'business as usual' when they face fierce rivals Derby County tomorrow.
The Reds boss wants his side to produce the same level of performance as they have shown so far this season at the City Ground.

But, while he appreciates the additional importance the game in the eyes of supporters, he has also told his players they should treat it like any other game.
"We have been excellent in our games so far, with the exception of Watford," said Davies.
"We can't be anything but pleased with the way things are going.
"We are disappointed not to have more points. But it will be business as usual and that is the message to the players.
"They have to go into the game and compete, because that is necessary in a local derby.
"If they can compete, we have the quality right through the side to cause them problems.
"I know what this game means to supporters, but they need to realise we need more than one win to get ourselves up towards the Premier League.
"It is not about two or three matches during the season, it is about the whole campaign.
"We want three points from every game of the season, including Derby."
Davies is convinced Forest are playing well enough to take the three points that have so far eluded them.
"As I have said to the guys in midweek, if we are not playing well and creating chances, I would be concerned, because we have not got the points on the board that we should," he said.
"People can try to turn positives into negatives, but the facts are that we should have had more points than we have.
"Performance wise, I am delighted."
Davies is likely to name the same back four that played so well against Middlesbrough in midweek, with Joel Lynch still an injury doubt with his back.
"Joel is still a major concern but, touch wood, we have no other injuries to report," he said.
"But it is all positive at the moment and we will go into this game with the attitude that we will work very hard and get the fans the result they want."

“I think Red Elvis needs a reality check, just remember, we have 9 new players!!!! they wont gel instantly!! Chelsea didnt win anything straight away when they spent billions!!!!! if your a real fan you would stick with forest through thick and thin, maybe you should be a sheep fan as you clearly would fit in better with their negative attitudes!! I think personally, we will just scrape playoffs but lose out to middlesborough, but next season we will be up!! Earnie aint gunna leave, he knows he's the best we got finishing wise, just needs a link up from someone like dele or dexter, watch him after January, 30 + goals if he stays fit!! 2-1 forest tomorrow!!! yyyooooooouuuuuuuuuuu rrrrrrreeeeeddddddddsssssssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

“Mandy, there are strong rumours that we are also in for Bale, with Gunter putting a word in for us and Forest prepared to pay more of his wages than Newcastle. Not sure they're true and he may prefer Newcastle to us but just because we're not hearing anything doesn't mean it isn't happening. It will be negligent if we don't strengthen, but I wouldn't be surprised to see activity next week.”

“''Business as usual'' for forest means: they'll score no goals, only 4323 fickles will tun up, Billy will blame everyone else and Derby will take the 3 points... again”

“just seen on sky sports news apparently newcastle have enquired about taking gareth bale on loan , its at early stages but why are we not in for someone like him.david pleat is ex spurs manager and must still have contacts there...this is what i mean about dilly and dallying about. surely he would be interested in coming to us with his fellow ex spurs and welsh collegue being here , im sure gunts would put a good word in for us. we just never seem to be pro-active and sometimes not even reactive ..it really does bug me.Still keeping the faith U REDS!!!”

“Mandy I take your point onboard re the prem defenders on loan. I think it would be fair to say we all know we are lacking at the back. I'm sure BD has tried to sort some cover, but for reasons best known to the club has failed so far. But I have faith in BD so let's just see. Hoping we get the result that we the team and Billy rightly deserve tomorrow. Yoooouredddddsss”

“OH ! DEAR OH DEAR ! just read on vital that earnshaw is on his way to borough !
the good newes is we will get 4 and a half mil for him !
the bad newes is we will be buying another striker with the money !
im not happy to see earnshaw go although he has not been that amazing for us he has done his fair share and with the step up in quality of players at forest i think we would have seen a very good earnshaw this season,
but i guess we cant turn down that kind of money but i would be a happier forest fan if the money went on sonko , shittu , nosworthy or best of all bale
the sun is hinting that bale maybe on his way to forest but after the mills thing ill believe it when i see it , mcsheffery would be a welcome signing but defence HAS to be first on the list
IF EARNSHAW IS GONE i will be very sad to see him go ! but if the money is spent wisley then i guess forest will be the winner and i think borough will be playing prem football next season so earnshaw will be better off
im not sure is this good or bad ! we will hae to see”
