BILLY Davies today admitted he was disappointed to see Nottingham Forest let a two-goal lead slip – but insisted he was not dissatisfied with his team's performance.

The Reds powered into the lead with goals from Chris Cohen and Nathan Tyson.

But, while Derby hit back to win 3-2, Davies was not overly critical of his players' efforts.

Instead, he felt it was Forest's inexperience that was to blame.

"I am not disappointed overall – I am disappointed with losing a two-goal lead, I have to tell you," he said.

"It was a fantastic first goal, from a well-worked corner , then we go 2-0 up. Then our inexperience kicked-in.

"We dropped off the game, we allowed them to get crosses in to our box and we did not pick up.

"When it went to 2-1 I felt it was a big turning point because it was crucial to go and defend properly at that point.

"At the start of the second half Derby showed their experience, their know-how. They moved the ball about much better and they came back into the game with a similar goal."

Davies felt Forest had plenty of chances to score further goals.

"We had some great chances, McCleary had a great one in the second half and I was gutted for the young lad Mark Byrne, because it was a fantastic chance to draw the game," said Davies.

"Then we lost a goal from a former Forest player [Kris Commons] and not only was it a goal, but a deflected goal."

Forest also suffered the blow of seeing James Perch carried off in the second half following a clash of heads with Rob Hulse.

"Perch has concussion. We don't know the precise problem yet or how bad it is, but it is a blow to lose him.

"It is another player added to the injury list, but that is what I get paid for."

“Not enough quality players on the park. SImple as that.

Ok we won't get a crack at Man Utd. Concern ourselves with stayin up in the CCC. The silverware will still be there next year!

Marthur, get us talent scouts who can pick talent and then go out the talent..stop dithering. If dithering wasn an Olympic event marthur would be a gold medalist!”
