BEN Davies believes Notts County can rise even further in League One.

The Magpies were bottom of the table after losing to Huddersfield Town and Oldham Athletic in their opening two games of the season, but are now in 12th place after going three games unbeaten.

After beating Dagenham 1-0 at Meadow Lane and rescuing a point in a 3-3 draw at Bournemouth, Notts claimed their biggest win of the season against Yeovil Town, winning 4-0.

Davies scored twice and Craig Westcarr and Lee Hughes, on his return from a groin injury, also netted.

"We have gone into the top half of the table, which is pleasing. Psychologically it makes a big difference," said Davies.

"We have got to build on it now. We are three games unbeaten, and we have to keep that run going to make sure we climb even further up the table."

Davies, who was named man of the match, praised defender Krystian Pearce as Notts kept a clean-sheet against the Glovers.

Pearce was making only his second league start of the season, his first in central defence.

He said: "I thought he was outstanding, the whole defence was. We had conceded a lot of goals in previous games so it was great for them to keep a clean-sheet.

"Krystian has had to wait for his chance, but he took it. He is a very promising player. He has got everything. He is big and strong and he has a lot of pace too.

"He's young, but he grew as the game went on."
