MANSFIELD Triathlon Club's Chris Dale is on course for victory in the Saucony Sprint Triathlon Series which ends in Southwell on Sunday.

Dale tops the male under-20 age group with 2,988 points out of a possible 3,000 after victories at Mansfield and Burton Waters, and a second placed spot at Woodhall Spa.

The best three of the four results are taken to decide final standings and with Dale already 172 points ahead of his nearest rival, and three results in the bag, it would take a significant reversal of fortunes for him to be denied the series win.

Currently sitting fourth in the male 25-29 age group is Gareth Castledine. He is 27 points behind the leader Richard Teare (Equus).

Sue Day looks set to take second place in the female 45-49 age group.
