Crowds gather to see festive town light up
THOUSANDS of people turned out to Mansfield's Christmas lights switch-on.
The town centre was a hive of activity on Sunday when children saw Santa and his reindeer parading along Westgate and families enjoyed arts and crafts workshops provided by Four Seasons Shopping Centre and Mansfield Library.

Bright spark: An entertainer at the Mansfield Christmas lights switch-on held in the town centre.
He was followed by the Palace Theatre's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs pantomime characters, CBeebie's Driver Dan from Driver Dan's Story Train and the Four Season's B:Club mascot Buzz the Bee. School choirs and a brass band provided music for shoppers in Stockwell Gate. The 40-strong Mansfield Rock Choir also entertained the crowds.
More live music was provided by The Hot Shots who got the crowds singing and dancing along to a set of well-known rock and pop covers and Christmas classics.
