County council staff to take industrial action
MORE than half of all Notts County Council employees are set to take industrial action.
A ballot held by union Unison shows 76% of its 9,000 members voted in favour of taking action indefinitely, short of strike action.

County Hall
From the end of March, employees will:
Refuse to use their own cars for work.
Stop performing duties beyond their normal job description.
Only work to contracted hours.
Union members are angry about the council slashing staff terms and conditions.
The authority is reducing things like mileage rates and the amount of holiday entitlement for long-serving employees.
The county council employs 16,000 people across Notts, excluding teachers.

“I assume that all these people who think council staff should be sacked for doing what every other industry and sector have done - stick up for themselves NO ONE WANTS THEIR PAY AND CONDITIONS REDUCED, whoever and whatever they do for a living, May I ask these silly little people if they use or know anyone who uses any of the following services. Any child in school, any person in a care home, day centre, do not use community transports, use a tip, have a blue car badge, meals on wheels, home help, and I could go on and on but I think even an idiot would get where I am coming from. And yes fab idea, sack the social workers that look after the needs or our elderly residents, disabled residents and lets leave all the children in the county who live in awful conditions suffering abuse, neglect and god knows what else, lets leave them to fend for themselves as well. Great idea. Lets hope Doctors and Nurses don't vote to work to rule as well, no doubt you will be asking for them to be sacked also. We don't all sit in offices pushing usless bits of paper around. Everyone uses council services and everyone expects them to be there, well you can't run an operation without people - sack them all indeed, what an idiot!!!!!!! I bet those who are calling for us all to be sacked just happen to be the biggest drain on our recourses ¿ you know who you are. Maybe if more people got off their backsides and earned their own money we wouldn¿t be in the mess we are now.”

“J, you are actually mentally unstable.
Ok, by calling British soldiers murderers and torturers, you are not theoretically condoning the taliban and you actually concede the taliban are much worse.
However, this is not a 'normal' argument to make (especially in such a thread as this).
If you were a principled pacifist or humanitarian then you would condemn all sides who cause suffering and I and many others would respect your argument. But you are not. You are just against Britain and the state, and the mainstream view. Doesn't matter what conflict or how odious the enemy or their treatment of innocents. Doesn't matter what crime is committed on our streets or who is the victim. All that matters to you is the condemnation of our soldiers /police/officials.
Its the same with your rants against people who you think are racist. You couldn't really give a fig about the racially abused all you want is the fight and the opportunity to have people hate you.
You really aught to seek professional help. Its clear to everyone you have anger management and self loathing issues.”

“"Little man? I'm not the one calling Solidiers, murderers and torturers of innocents on one hand while defending the taliban on the other.
Say what you think to soldiers in real life LITTLE MAN j and see how far you get.
ALLAH ACKBAR, Little Pakistan"
Hmmmm,
a) where exactly did I defend the Talliban??!!!! Freak!
b) you do realise that your final comment simply reinforces the view that soldiers are thugs, don't you? Any more own goals you'd care to score?”

“"A sense, of reality ¿ I think that you ought to learn to read. The article said that 76% 0f UNISON Members voted for industrial action."
No actually it doesn't - read it for yourself: "MORE than half of all Notts County Council employees are set to take industrial action". Read the word ALL. It's simply not true!!”

“P, Notts well that's alright for you then, isn't it.
The Tories will look after you and I hope you do alright under them.
Meanwhile the large majority of the people of Notts suffer with service cuts.”
