STEVE Cotterill is not getting carried away by his perfect start as Notts County manager.

The Magpies have won the first three games of his reign, against Hereford United, Macclesfield Town and Accrington.

They have scored nine goals, and conceded none.

But Cotterill is firmly focused on tomorrow night's big derby game against Chesterfield at Meadow Lane.

"It's been a good start and we're delighted with it but that is all it is, we've got a lot of games left to play," he said, after the 3-0 at Accrington.

"Hopefully it will continue. We've got another tough game tomorrow night and that's what we'll be looking forward to and preparing for now.

"We certainly won't be dwelling on the win at Accrington, even though it was a great win at a difficult place to get a result.

"We worked hard going into that one and now we've got to work hard at recuperating for Chesterfield."

Cotterill is unsure if Stephen Hunt will be fit to face the Spireites.

The defender was ruled out of the win at Accrington with a hamstring problem.

He has been in an oxygen chamber in an attempt to speed-up his recovery.

"Hopefully he will be back sooner rather than later," added Cotterill.

Notts climbed two places to fifth in the League Two table, after beating Accrington.

They could move up to third if they beat Chesterfield, and fourth-placed Bury lose to Darlington.

"We're out of seventh spot and we've got to build on it now," said Cotterill.

"We've got the game tomorrow night and it's a good one to look forward to.

"Now we're catching up in points we're getting to know better where we are as a team, even though we've still got a few games in-hand.

"The higher we are with the more games we've got to play the better.

"Hopefully, with the rub of the green and a fair wind, we can finish the season well."

“Thank you to Ludo and J R Hartley its good to see there are at least some people that come onto this site that are sensible. as to Mike, well his views are very hard to understand. Yes if you are renting a house you own and you have tenants that are paying rent its better than having no tenants, but not if those tenants rip out the bathroom and toilet lowering the value of your house. Mike have you lost the plot as well as the rugby club damaging our chances this season as Mr. Trew has agreed to let them play at the Lane for the next seven seasons I would call that long term. If you heard Mr Trew on radio Nottinham match talk programme you might just come to the conclusion that the pittance Notts get from the rugby club has very little or no inpact on the future of Notts.”

    “56 years.
Apologies i have checked the online prices and yes they have been increased when Mr Trew said they would reamin the same if bought in advance.
I have not had a season ticket for some years and pay £ 20 to sit in the Pavis Stand with my 6 year old son who has been free for the last 3 years. Whilst this equates to £ 2.50 a game for the season is this not the fan base we are trying to attract.”

“I think 56 years makes a valid and interesting point and I don't believe him expressing it makes him miserable or a moaner, although I don't personally go along with it. What's the point in having a forum if not to express a variety of opinons? If you want to take part in a forum occupied by a bunch of narrow minds barking the same inanities in simple minded agreement with each other then go and comment on the Forest stories.”

You're NOT putting the long term interests of Notts first. You're complaing about the pitch because it might damage our chances of promotion THIS SEASON! How is that long term?

The long term interests of the club are survival. The way we'll survive is by maximising every possible revenue stream. As I've said many times, that includes the rugby club.

Think of it like any landlord would. Your house may be worth more than you earn from your tenants, but by having it occupied you earn something.

It goes without saying that if it's empty you earn nothing...”

“Agree with 56 years - the rugby club wrecks our pitch. shame on you Mr Trew for trying to keep Notts afloat: kick the rugby club out and put us in administration.”

“I' m sorry if some of you think that I'm boring, but if putting the long term interests of Notts first is boring, I plead guilty. As to the season ticket prices not going up, may I suggest you read the prices for next season again. No early purchase discount, this when fans are being asked to purchase them months in advance of any other season. Children under twelve that were free now £50 etc. Over the years as an ex shareholder in the club I have put thousands of pounds into the club in an effort to help the club move forward. I am not prepared to just sit back and do nothing when Mr. Trew, by his actions regarding the rugby club is in my and other people I know opinion not in the best interests of the club I've loved for so many years. Sadly, although I will continue to follow the club on the radio and wish them well in the future my visits to the Lane will end at the end of this season.”

    Thanks.”

Different day, same flawed complaint, eh? I've already explained to you (many many times) why you're wrong, I'm not prepared to do so again.

However, well done Notts. Now lets put Chesterfield to the sword tomorrow.”
