BUILDING work is now under way at Lindhurst wind farm, south of Mansfield.

The first jobs include upgrading and building access tracks. The turbines are expected to be delivered in July and put up in August, with electricity generation expected to start later in the year.

The company behind the scheme is RWE npower renewables. Project manager Andy Clayton said: "Each year Lindhurst Wind Farm will offset the release of thousands of tonnes of carbon dioxide and make a valuable contribution to the fight against climate change."
