Comedian Mark Thomas at anti-arms protest
ANTI-ARMS protesters will gather in Lenton on Monday to hear a speech from a well-known comedian and activist.
Mark Thomas, who is appearing at the Nottingham Playhouse next week, will address campaigners at the corner of Abbey Street and Gregory Street at 3.30pm.
A standing protest with banners and music will follow at the gates of small-arms manufacturer Heckler & Koch in Easter Park, Lenton Lane.
The events have been organised by Shut Down H&K, a Nottingham-based group.

“Surely you are not advocating that the proliferation of arms by weapons manufacturer's such as H&K (who do not hesitate to sell arms to countries currently under international arms embargo such as Zimbabwe) is equivalent to pre-modern attempts at weaponry?”

“Ever since the first caveman picked up a bone to use as a club, mankindfhas used arms of some sort. This comedian may as well protest about it raining on Bank Holidays.”
