Former Cocteau Twin to play at Glee Club
COCTEAU Twins co-founder Robin Guthrie will be bringing his latest tour to the Glee Club in February, with former Ride frontman Mark Gardener as special guest.
Guthrie was the chief sound architect of Cocteau Twins and This Mortal Coil, and his reverb-drenched style has had a significant impact on alternative music since the early 1980s. Numerous acts have emulated his style, and several others – including Felt, Ian McCulloch and Lift to Experience – have enlisted his production skills.
His sound has influenced My Bloody Valentine, M83 and School Of Seven Bells.
Over the last decade he has released a series of challenging albums, EPs and soundtracks, including Winter Garden with Eraldo Bernocchi and Harold Budd and the single The Places We Go with Gardener. The latter features on his most recent album, Soleil Après Minuit.
