“Steven i guess it does depend upon who you are comparing him to. The problem with Davies is that there are a significant number who don't want him albeit he does have the experience. This was part of Calderwood's problem in that he didn't really win all the fans over. This means that people like that have to be successful immediately otherwise the fans are on their backs all the time. Chairmen etc don't want to be on the receiving end of aggressive taunting. Cloughie wouldn't have that problem.

Having said that, the new manager has to be successful fairly quickly given our position in the league so you do have a valid point.”
