Carrington Post Office is located in a parade of 17 shops. Of these, 12 say they have been negatively affected since the post office's closure. Here is what they say the impact has been:

Casa Hair & Beauty: Immediately noticed a 50% drop in walk-in clients, resulting in a 10% drop in turnover, and a further financial burden through having to now make a bus ride to get to the nearest post office.

Madrid Design Studios Ltd / Joe's Store: Is considering moving since the closure as it has lost sales and it can only post goods for its mail order business two times a week now, whereas it used to be five times.

Carrington Pharmacy: The closure has had a hugely detrimental effect on the counter and prescriptions business which may lead to its closure.

Booze Barn: Daytime trade has drastically reduced and takings have gone down by at least 20%. If this continues, it may have to relocate elsewhere.

Hello Mobile: The closure has resulted in a decline of 25-30% of its takings.

The Flower Gallery: The passing trade has almost ceased, since Carrington Post Office customers are forced to go to another community and do their shopping there.

Naughty but Nice: Experienced a loss of 40% in business since the elderly, who used to use the post office and have a coffee and cake next door, are no longer seen. The area used to be busy.

Pancho's Fish Bar: Has to close shop each time they need to go to the bank for up to one hour, which has affected their takings.

Hansons: It has increased the cost of sending a parcel to mail order customers and takes staff out of the office for longer and with additional travel costs. It will affect any future online business.

Tavistock Drive Dental Care: The closure has led to delays in sending laboratory work to various parts of the country, resulting in a reduction in the level of service it can offer.

The Nottingham Natural Health Centre: The closure has led to delays in sending its herbs and vitamins that are ordered online, resulting in a reduction in the level of service.
