The drop-in sessions will provide an opportunity for people to find out about forthcoming works on Southchurch Drive and ask questions.
They follow an announcement by NET Phase Two about the planned eight-month closure of parts of Southchurch Drive, which sparked concern among traders.

“They should at least have people working three shifts a day 24/7 and ban them all just standing around in a circle watching one person doing something or stood around hunched over their mobile phones on facebook or whatver.”

“The people of Clifton have my sympathy, as a meadows resident i am now sick and tired of the months of disruption the tram has caused and no end in site. roads closed and open on a whim and everlasting detours cost a fortune in petrol.Be prepared for months of disruption to your life`s.”

“What? Still no local Councillors in attendance?
A paltry 'drop-in session' on this matter is a complete cop-out.
All Councillors in the City get paid a BASIC allowance of £11.5k each year (for at least 4 years) to attend to matters such as this, ie, to listen to and represent the concerns of their constituents. This prolonged road closure is a massive issue in Clifton, and our local representatives should be there, at the very least, to demonstrate an interest in what people think, whether the disruption affects them personally or not.
The deafening silence on this 8-month shutdown of the main shopping road in Clifton from these people continues unabated.”
