Clarke: UK economy worst in my lifetime
BRITAIN'S economic state is "the most catastrophic" Rushcliffe MP Ken Clarke has seen in his lifetime, he said last night.
Mr Clarke spoke on BBC Radio 4's Any Questions, from the Minster School, Southwell, in front of a 350-strong audience.
One member of the audience raised concerns over the need for food banks and Mr Clarke said: "We are living in the most catastrophic economic crisis of my life time. I think most of my middle-class friends don't appreciate just how big a mess we are in."
Topics also included public trust in the police and Britain's planned intervention in Mali.
