Clark: Let's kick-start survival bid with win over Rams
FRANK Clark today challenged Nottingham Forest to beat rivals Derby on Sunday to kick-start their fight against relegation.
Clark is convinced the Reds have enough quality to pull clear of the bottom three in the Championship.
-

Forest loanee: Danny Higginbotham is in line to face his former team.
The chairman also concedes that something needs to change soon, following a run of results that has seen them lose ground on their rivals.
And he is convinced that getting one over on the Rams at Pride Park on Sunday could be the perfect start.
"Any win would be good to get us going again now, but it would be doubly sweet if it came against Derby," said Clark.
"I know Derby is the big game for our supporters, I understand that.
"I hesitate to use the word enemy, when we are talking about two football clubs. But this is the big derby for us and getting a win could kick-start our season."
Forest suffered their sixth straight goalless home defeat when Burnley triumphed 2-0 on Tuesday. But Clark revealed that a pre-match conversation has given him some hope.
"The players are suffering a crisis of confidence. But there are 18 games left and a lot of points to play for," he said.
"I am convinced that, if we can just get a win, it will gee us up.
"The Burnley chairman filled me with optimism before the game this week, when he was telling me about their experience.
"In early November, they were right down towards the bottom of the league. Then they went to Hull and found themselves 2-0 down, with ten minutes to play.
"Somehow, they managed to fight back and win the game 3-2. He admitted he was not sure how it had happened himself.
"But since then, they have won eight, drawn one and lost two of their last 11 games.
"You have to think that we could get on that kind of run.
"If we could start that against Derby, that would be great. We are all aware of the importance of the game, for our supporters.
"It would be great to start the run by beating them."
Forest travel to Derby on Sunday with the addition of two new loan signings, in the form of former Ram Danny Higginbotham, from Stoke City, and Manchester United youngster Scott Wootton.

“Bomdia,
Get a grip. I suggest you read my comments again, as they are responses to people who are making outrageous comments that imply (or are quite explicit in some cases) that protestors will be happy at today's sad news. Please read what I have written and consider it carefully.
As for what you wrote....
"To AxlPose, and all the others who are going to come out defending all their moronic, and frequently threatening comments"
I haven't defended any protestors 'moronic' or 'threatening' comments. Not once. You can protest without being this way and many protestors were.
And finally, this comment can't go either....
"There is absolutely no doubt that the emotional stress of what has taken place at the club this season will have been a contributory factor to his death."
How on earth can you be so sure of this? You have no idea of the circumstances of his death. If (and I'm speculating) he died as the result of exercise, then this tragically happens to people that have no stress or known of health issues.
There's enough idiotic comments on here. Please don't add to them, eh?”

“This is not the time but i said in my post yesterday that posters who spoke of expensive divorce, ripping the club off and printed his address- yes should hang their head in shame.
Anyone who criticised his football decisions then that is what we are here for.
I remain grateful for our wonder academy and saving my club from administration.
I will refrain from comments on Robert Dawes.”

“To AxlPose, and all the others who are going to come out defending all their moronic, and frequently threatening comments and lies about our late owner, whether Nigel has died of natural causes or committed suicide, there is absolutely no doubt that the emotional stress of what has taken place at the club this season will have been a contributory factor to his death.
Allthose who talked of 'toys out of pram ' and all the other comments referring to his lack of interest in the club and not being a real fan, are typical of all that is wrong, not just with the significant number of such people who follow my club, but the wider malaise affecting just about all English Society today.
Anyway,it will be interesting to see what happens now on the financial front. If it transpires that the debt and the commitment to our wage bill for the next 2 years have been written off in some fashion, then that would prove him to be a supporter every bit as great as the Haywards and Gibsons of this world. However,it's quite probable that nothing had been 'set in stone' which could well mean that his company, and his family, will want the debt returned-and who can blame them after the appalling insults and vilification endured by them.
If the latter is the case then our club will be rapidly wound up.Indeed it will be interesting to see if all those purchasers who the 'Doughty Outers' have insisted are queueing up to buy us, will do so if the first thing they have to do is find some £100m before starting to operate the club.
If no buyer is forthcoming rapidly to do that, then the alternative will be a sale of Forest's assets to meet the legitimate claims of Doughty's estate as much as possible.Apart from the players (!!!!) the only other asset we own is the Academy site at Gresham Close and the buildings thereon.
Realistically,if the Doughty Company and family DO call in debts, and no mega rich buyer is willing to pick up the tab then the least that will happen is administration and the worst could be a winding up of the club.I wonder if Ken Clarke will be fighting as hard for his Party leader to save us as the Portsmouth MP yesterday!
If the game is not postponed tomorrow I look forward to hearing the Derby fans ' tributes to our owner(!!!!),and the police attempts to control the violence that is likely to erupt. Are all you' sit in' protesters going to be turning up next Saturday-with a bit of luck we could make similar headlines to Egypt over the next week or so.”

“Redtilldead,
This is what you wrote....
"well to all those fans who called for doughty out .HOPE YOUR F,,,,,, HAPPY"
That sounds like you think protestors will be happy that ND is dead. It's pretty clear. If you're unable to express yourself properly then don't contribute to forums.
And, by the way, it's "offense", not "affense". Didn't you go to school?”

“Very sad news indeed!! Condoncies to Nigel's family... However, those who are now slating & accusing any fans who have protested or criticised in the past, that's a cheap shot and totally un-called for!! I am sure that any true fan is sad at this news, a very unfortunate and sad situation....”
