City is 'second best' for recycling waste
NOTTINGHAM is Britain's second greenest city, according to latest recycling statistics.
Packaging company Nampak Plastics asked people in Nottingham about their recycling habits.
City residents claimed to recycle more than two thirds, or 61 per cent, of their household waste – just slightly ahead of Newcastle and Brighton (both 60%).
Eric Collins, managing director of Nampak Plastics, said: "Our congratulations go to the people of Nottingham for their fantastic recycling record – we'd urge businesses and consumers across the country to take their lead."
