City eczema expert's new role

A CITY eczema specialist has been given a top role at a national research body.

Prof Hywel Williams is set to become the new chair of the National Institute of Health Research's health technology assessment commissioning board.

The board considers the merits of research applications to promote health as well as preventing and treating disease.

Prof Williams is currently honorary consultant in childhood eczema at Nottingham University Hospitals Trust.

He said: "I am looking forward to playing my part in making the NHS the best place in the world for research that matters to patients."
