A NOTTINGHAM charity is helping to hand out food and medicine to those affected by the Haiti earthquake.

Disaster relief consultancy firm Mother Helpage was set up by Sohail Nasti of Hyson Green.

Its latest work includes providing clean water to camp sites, moving injured people to hospital and clearing dead bodies on the devastated island. Dr Nasti said more money was needed to help them move the rubble and bodies.

He said: "This is one of the main priorities as very few international agencies are conducting this part of emergency work.

"To prioritise this task is very important."
