Chilwell Scouts unveil their new-look hut
We did it: The opening of the revamped 3rd Chilwell Scouts' hut. The 1950s building at Inham Road has had a £57,000 overhaul with lottery money won in 2008 in a People's Millions TV appeal. Youngsters dubbed the scheme Scoutzilla: The Mammoth Project. The plans, drawn up with the Beeston Rotary Club, included a new kitchen and installing a new toilet for disabled people. An extension was replaced with a new building. The Mayor of Broxtowe, Councillor Pat Lally, and resident Diane Parkin (seen at the front with scout leader Dave Tonge) opened the hut.
