The Met Office said Nottingham would still have slippery conditions, with temperatures of -1°C until at least midday, when sunshine should break through the clouds.
But temperatures are set to dip to -3°C overnight.
And more snow was predicted for Friday afternoon and into the early hours of Saturday morning.
