Helen Dhaliwal, director of the chain, said: "When we opened the first restaurant in 2004 we revolutionised the idea of a buffet and completely turned it on its head to offer freshly-cooked global cuisine at great value.

"Since then we've launched six other venues around the UK and have learnt some valuable lessons along the way.

"Now it's time to put this all in to practice and return to our hometown to give something back. Our new restaurant is the first of its kind and will attract people from all around the UK, who will flock to Nottingham to witness this milestone in culinary history."

The chain began in Nottingham in 2004, serving more than 100 dishes.

The company now employs more than 720 people, with each restaurant serving up to 300 different dishes from cuisines around the world.

Deepak Bahuguna, corporate chef, who helped to mastermind the concept of the restaurant said: "Absolutely everything is made on-site, from the fries to the pizza dough and everything else you see.

"It's all about choice, quality, freshness and fun – we want our guests to enjoy their food.

"There are no rules or limitations, you define your dining experience – whether that's the ultimate in fine dining with an intimate meal for two or a huge celebration with dozens of your family and friends."

Most of the applicants for jobs are from Notts.

Suzanne Green, The Cornerhouse centre manager said: "We're delighted to welcome Red Hot World Buffet to The Cornerhouse.

"With their strong Nottingham roots, they are a fantastic addition to the venue.

"Eating in their restaurant will really be an experience unlike any other, and one I know our customers will enjoy."

"We're looking forward to 2013 – with Red Hot World Buffet opening and the new Imax cinema we're expecting it to be a busy year ahead."

The restaurant will open on January 24.

The company intents to keep its building on Goose Gate – its first site – for offices, kitchens and functions.

“All-you-can-eat places are 'fun' if you like eating all you can, as I do. It means you can try many more different dishes than you usually do at a restaurant. And in the case of that place and Peachy Keens it's not only limited to one type of cuisine. So the fun is in exploration.

As for helping job-seekers get in touch with them... I imagine they are going to do targeted searches for staff rather than imagining whoever reads this outlet will be exactly what they need.”

“"The-crossed", you appear to have your lines crossed. What is providing new jobs if it is not putting something backninto the community ?

Wortho, modern day job seekers are not psychic but, if they have anything about them, use modern methods of keeping in touch with the job market.”

“"Now it's time to put this all in to practice and return to our hometown to give something back.

New jobs are always good news but don't insult our intelligence with comments about 'to give something back' This is a business venture with the sole intention of making a profit....Nothing wrong in that of course, but if there was no potential for profit in this new restaurant it would not be opening at the Cornerhouse.”

“It would help job seekers if the restaurant put an address or telephone number or said where they would be holding interviews or are today's job seekers psychic ... but in any case I have told my grandson and my granddaughters partner to ring their restaurant on Goose Gate so all you other young job seekers get ringing also . Good luck to you all .”
