Central College Nottingham students deliver sports equipment to the Gambia
EIGHTEEN sport students from Central College Nottingham have returned from a trip to the Gambia.
The first and second year students are from Btec sport development and fitness and the foundation degree sport courses.
They visited five schools and put on sport and physical activity sessions for over 800 schoolchildren. They also donated sport kits, footballs and tennis balls.
Diane Garfield, community and performance sport manager at the college, said: "Sport volunteering aims to provide opportunities for students to develop their leadership and coaching skills. Independent volunteering helps the students bridge the gap from college and student life to the world of employment in the sport and leisure industry.
