Cavaliers back on top
DEFENDING champions West Indian Cavaliers are back in a familiar position – at the top of the Notts Premier League.
Their demolition of Welbeck and Caythorpe's defeat at home to Wollaton has once again put Cavs in pole position and, given their record over the past few years, that will be a real worry to the other contenders.

Kimberley's Jason Gorman bowls to Gedling's Jamie Marchant
Cavs simply brushed aside Welbeck, posting an imposing 269-8 and then skittling out the home side for a mere 99.
Meanwhile, Wollaton were pulling off a shock win over Caythorpe as Karl Glendenning led the way with 86 in their total of 255-4.
There were also excellent contributions from Tom Savill and Paul McMahon, who then both turned it on with the ball as Caythorpe were bowled out ten runs short, with Leon Botha making 99.
Kimberley maintained their title bid with a comfortable eight-wicket win at bottom side Gedling.
The visitors were restricted to 216-8 and Kimberley had no problem passing that mark inside 37 overs, Tom Collishaw leading them home with an unbeaten 77.
Papplewick must be kick themselves after letting slip a golden chance to really boost their title credentials as they crashed to an unexpected six-wicket defeat at struggling Mansfield HM.
Papplewick were indebted to former England all-rounder Phil DeFreitas who made 68 in their total of 220.
But an invaluable 82 from Fernando and an unbeaten 42 from Jayasinghe saw Mansfield home with 11 balls to spare. That win should banish any lingering fears of relegation.
Clifton's Liam Andrews proved too hot to handle as he took six wickets for the hosts as they bowled out Cuckney for only 139.
Clifton cruised past that score for the loss of only two wickets, Andrews chipping in with 30 runs.
Plumtree picked up a winning draw against Killamarsh – but it was mighty close. Dallas Coull and Rob Ferley both chipped in with useful scores as Plumtree made 254-7.
Killamarsh pushed them all the way before closing only three runs shy on 251-6 as Burgess hit 95.
