WEST Indian Cavaliers retained their Notts Premier League title at the weekend without bowling a ball.

The entire programme – including Cavs' home match against Clifton – was wiped out by the bad weather meaning Cavaliers' will go into this weekend's final round of matches with an unassailable 27-point advantage over rivals Kimberley.

Cavs were always strong favourites to defend their crown even without the help of the weather but now they can relax for their final match at bottom club Gedling on Saturday.

The relegation issue was already decided before the weekend's wash-out, with Gedling and Killamarsh both condemned to the drop.

They will be replaced by South Notts League champions Attenborough and Farnsfield.

Farnsfield clinched the Bassetlaw League title on Saturday – again without a ball being bowled. They are 27 points clear of Edwinstowe with one round of matches remaining.
