CASH has been stolen from a church.

Thieves broke in to St Barnabas Church, in Church Street, Pleasley Hill, overnight on Sunday.

    Cash has been stolen from St Barnabas Church, Pleasley Hill

A rear door was forced open and a metal safe containing cash was stolen.

A police spokesman said: “Did you see anyone acting suspiciously in the area that night? Did you notice anyone carrying the green safe, which at 1.5ft by 2.5ft would have been very heavy?”
