CANNABIS plants worth up to £33,000 have been uncovered by police.

The discovery was made during a day of action in Clifton on Wednesday.

More than 2,000 vehicles were stopped and one search resulted in the seizure of drugs paraphernalia, leading to the discovery of 33 mature cannabis plants worth an estimated £500-£1,000 each at a house in Gotham. A man aged 27 was arrested.

Notts, Leicestershire and Lincolnshire forces were involved in the operation.
