City centre: A cosmetics store staff member dressed as a chameleon will be crammed into a small cage in the city centre today to kick off a campaign against keeping reptiles as pets.

Other employees at Lush Cosmetics in Clumber Street will be handing out leaflets and holding posters that read "Exotic animals are not pets!"

“I think this so stupid, as a reptile owner for many many years i have rescued a few too. This APA compaign has no idea what they are going on about. My reptile have the perfect like and spoiled. Just like you have dogs, cats and bird.... Birds in cages, would you consider that bad? There people are poorly educated.”
