Camp Camped out
I have read all the comments of late about Nottm. Forest to whom I have supported since 1959.
I just see now turmoil each season, when we do get it right we don't support the manager.
No matter what you say the best run of consistency in the last 10 years was under Billy Davies and the board failed misserably to support his requirements when needing 2 players in January window 2 years ago. I remember watching us play away at Newcastle and felt then that that loss was the end of the season. Simon Driscoll to me was building a steady squad together and if he had got to the January window it would have been very interesting who he bought in.
I really do not see how the new owners have Football background and it looks like changing the manager when not needed proves the point.

You can not buy success unless you have strength at the helm to run it.
Alex McLeish I do not see as a candidate to take us up this year or next and does not have the support of the supporters so he will struggle with every lost point the club fail to achieve.
So after many a good year of support my advice is Bring a manager in that the players want to play for and respect and play for each other.
Lee Camp, yes was a very good keeper and I think he has lost his edge but with a defence who can not pick up attackers it leaves him wide open.
To let him go for Free is not good business, if he does not want to sign a contract and commit to his job then sell him, what ever you get for him has to be better than nothing.
Where again is the business logic in that.
Nottingham Forest I dearly hope to see back in the premiership but only if we can compete when we get there.
The structure is wrong, the owners have to understand the supporteres will make the club if they play winning football.
Look across the river, Notts. have started to lose touch and the supporters have shown they will not come to see a side not performing, they have got themselves in a strong position and now the owner is restricting the cash to strengthen when needed.
Just who does understand football?

“Article re-written by me, and much more sensible.
I have read all the comments of late about Nottm Forest, whom I have supported since 1959.
I just see now turmoil each season, when we do get it right we don't support the manager. After all, we've only brought in 14 (FOURTEEN) players!!
No matter what you say the best run of consistency in the last 10 years was under Billy Davies and the board failed miserably to support his requirements when needing 2 players in January window 2 years ago. To quote Mark Arthur at the time. 'That low life piece of Scottish s*** can f*** off if he thinks Nigel is going to support the c**** '. I remember watching us play away at Tyncastle and felt then that that loss was the end of the season, even though it was only September. Simon Driscoll, to me was building a steady squad together and if he had got to the January window it would have been very interesting who he bought in. These tight fisted owners have now sacked three managers in four weeks! Steve C, Sean O' and now Simon, after only taking charge on Monday at nine AM and sacking him at ten past. Disgraceful!
I really do not see how the new owners have Football background and it looks like changing the manager when not needed proves the point. In my opinion seventeen years running a club in Malaria, is no experience at all.
You cannot buy success, just ask Man City or Chelsea. Both clubs have had billions spent on them and were are they now? Fighting for survival in the Vauxhall Conference, that's were!
Alex McLeish I do not see as a candidate to take us up this year or next and does not have the support of the supporters, and the supporters do not have the backing of the other supporters who support the supporters. so he will struggle with support and every lost point the club fail to achieve will be down to him and not the supporters who support the supporters of the supporters.. The fact that he has won more cups than our previous three managers (SC/SOD/SD) if of no importance.
So after many a good year of support my advice is Bring a manager in that the players want to play for and respect and play for each other. We do not want the likes of Alex Ferguson or Brian Clough running Forest, we want a proper manager, like Simon.
Lee Camp, yes was a very good keeper and I think he has lost his wife, but with attackers coming around his house when he is not there is not right, it leaves him (and her) wide open.
To let him go for Free is not good business, if he does not want to sign a contract and commit to his job then sell him, whatever you get for him has to be better than nothing. I once sold a chocalate pig on ebay and got £1.75. Foolish some may say. And yes, I could have given it to my Grand Daughter. But would I be £1.75 better off? Of course not.
Where again is the business logic in that?
Nottingham Forest I dearly hope to see back in the premiership but only if we can compete when we get there.
The structure is wrong, the owners have to understand the supporter's will make the club if they play winning football. As I stated before. You get three points for a win and only two for a draw, so it is much more sensible to draw two games than lose four!
Look across the river, Notts. have started to lose touch and the supporters have shown they will not come to see a side not performing, they don't even bother when they play well. They have got themselves in a strong position, we are now 13th out of 24, so a lot better than normal. and now the owner is restricting the cash because he has given up all hope.
Just who does understand football? Obviously not me.”

“ive enjoyed reading some of the somewhat baffled comments from some of the posters regarding our past manager Simon Driscoll.
Forest fans may be some of the most fickle in the footballing world, but they are also some of the funniest!!!”

“Bizarre article to say the least!
Pne point regarding Camp going for nothing.
On the face of it it is bad business. But, I remember being at a NFFC member meeting, (when we were a football club and not a limited company), and listening to Brian Clough.
Some of the members were complaining that he let Harvey leave for nothing. They were saying that surely we could have got £1K for him.
BC's response was that you can only get money for players if someone is prepared to pay something. In Harveys case no one was prepared to pay a penny!
Relating this to the Camp situation the same could apply. However, 3 clubs are supposed to be interested in him, and in that case a fee, albeit nominal should be expected.
Interestingly letting Camp go for free makes a mockery of AM's statement that prices are inflated during the january window.”
