IT'S official. Conservative councillor David Taylor was wrong to display images of topless women in his office at County Hall.

David Cameron made it clear that he did not consider the pictures appropriate for a Conservative councillor.

The Evening Post asked him for his view on a visit to the newspaper yesterday.

Mr Cameron took no time at all to rule the images out of order.

He said: "If you are a councillor and you are there to represent people, you have got to represent everyone.

"I don't know the details of this case but if a Member of Parliament should not have pictures of topless women on their office walls, the same should apply to a councillor. It could cause offence to people."

Mr Cameron was not swayed by support for Coun Taylor from the Conservative group leader at Notts County Council when the furore erupted last month.

And Coun Taylor's argument that he displayed the images in protest at political correctness cut little ice either.

He said: "Political correctness can go too far, but the good bit of political correctness is politeness. We should always think about good manners and politeness with these issues. It seems to me this one would fall foul of that."

“mw wrote "the pressure to be thin comes from other women not men.".

Sure. Anyway, at least you agree that the women who take their clothes off put pressure on women who may then become anorexic.

    Thanks”

“Interesting headline and story, but totally misinterprets what was said for a headline.

Cameron: Tories say no to topless women.

David cameron made it clear he did not consider the pictures appropriate for a Conservative Councillor.

In reality, and somewhat against the misleading headline, he has merely expressed a personal opinion, and the Tories have not actually condemed him.”

“God Bles you Madbadger, you have misinterpreted alot of what I said.
As far as I know men don't like looking at Anorexic women and the pressure to be thin comes from other women not men.
I stand by what I said.
You've probably had some manipulative female trying to brainwash you, and have only absorbed a bit of it anyway
    Vive le difference!”

“reformed Mary Whitehouse. "as long as women like to pose, men will always like to look at them."

So, it's not the other way round then? As long as SOME men like to ogle naked females then SOME females will take their clothes off.
It's got nothing to do with political correctness unless one just likes being a pervert.
If it's just females who are secure in themselves why do you think some females are anorexic?”

“No Jason, it's not wrong...and as long as women like to pose, men will always like to look at them. Then both the men and the women are made to feel guilty and told what they 'should' be thinking by politically correct people flogging their own agendas
If women posing and men looking held a prison sentence it would all go underground and cause loads more trouble
A lot of the women who 'object' and say that it'exploits' women probably don't even understand their own motives and reasons,..If you are a woman secure in your own identity you are not threatened by other women posing.
Like prostitution it has always been part of society and always will be and the p.c.people against it for reasons they probably don't understand themselves are fighting a losing battle”

“So, David Cameron has some sense after all.
Perhaps Councillor Taylor will stick to his principles and now hang the calendar up at his home to continue his protest in his own small way.”
