Cadets raise cash for heroes
ARMY cadets from Carlton, Arnold and Bakersfield helped raise more than £1,500 for Help for Heroes.
The cadets decided to help Tesco in Carlton raise the cash after store staff heard an employee's son at another store had lost his leg fighting in Afghanistan. The groups raised £1,511 by bag-packing at the store and Sgt Major Mark Hewerdine, detachment commander at Carlton, said: "We have so many friends who are in the forces, many of them go on operations, so it's nice for the cadets to be able to help raise money that will go towards something that is so personal to them."
